Vanderbijlpark Student Housing

As the second largest development in the Adowa stable, Vanderbijlpark Student Housing is a campus for 1 250 students from the nearby North West University’s Vaal campus. Embodying the ethos of Adowa which is all about community living, this residence has multiple outdoor facilities for socializing. The soccer field and netball courts are set within plush gardens that serve as both break areas and picnic spots for spectators. The lapa and swimming pool area allows for summer fun in the Vaal heat, where students can socialize and feel at home.

All the standard Adowa amenities and equipment will be included in this property – so fast uncapped wifi, HD DSTV, laundry equipment and all furnishings. Did we mention the Jacuzzi? Security is of utmost important to Adowa, and the Vanderbijlpark Student Housing campus is no exception, with 24 hour armed response security services. The alarm is set every night, which makes for a very safe environment.

The building adopts the Adowa design philosophy, with rooms set up in apartment like units that foster the family environment. Each unit constitutes bedrooms toilets and bathrooms and a shared kitchen between students. The kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator, a microwave and a four plate electric stove. Students are given individual lockers for cupboard space, allowing for secure storage.

Each bedroom has sufficient cupboard space for each student, a desk and chair for studying and an electric wall heater. Double rooms have a middle partition that gives each student privacy without isolating the roommates from each other.

The building will be Edge certified by the Green Building Council and has implemented different systems that ensure energy efficiency and environmental friendliness, including the use of heat pumps for water heating.
